The UUID Forge
Generate universally unique identifiers in v1, v4 and v5 flavors. Copy, export and validate — everything runs in your browser, privately.
UUID v4 — Random
Generated using cryptographically secure random bytes. 122 bits of entropy. The most widely used version for database keys, request IDs and session tokens.
UUID v1 — Time-based
Encodes a 60-bit timestamp and a MAC-address-derived node, yielding sortable identifiers. Useful for time-ordered records, but leaks creation time.
UUID v5 — Named (SHA-1)
Deterministically derived from a namespace UUID and a name string via SHA-1. Same inputs always produce the same UUID — perfect for stable resource IDs.
100 % Private
All UUID generation runs inside your browser's crypto subsystem. No data ever leaves your device. No analytics, no cookies, no tracking of any kind.
